Thailand launches TH-AI Passport for access to 30 AI models

Thailand’s Ministry of Digital Economy and Society has launched the TH-AI Passport program, allowing Thai nationals aged 15 and older to register for access to AiPASS, a centralized artificial intelligence platform. Registration opened on August 19, with the platform scheduled to officially launch on August 31.

The AiPASS platform aggregates over 30 AI models from more than 14 different providers, including technologies such as GPT, Claude, Gemini, and the Thai-developed Pathumma LLM. The initiative aims to support up to five million users, including students, civil servants, and business owners, to enhance AI literacy and national competitiveness.

To register, users must verify their identity via the Thang Rath or ThaID apps using a Google, Microsoft, or Apple account. The government will utilize a ‘Pay Per Active User’ model to manage costs, specifically paying for ‘Innovator’ tier users based on actual usage. The program also includes educational courses to help users develop practical AI skills for professional and academic use.
