Thailand launches TH-AI Passport to provide citizens access to generative AI

The Thai government has launched the ‘TH-AI Passport’ project, a large-scale initiative designed to support national AI adoption and literacy. Central to this project is the ‘AiPASS’ platform, which went live on August 31, 2026. The program aims to provide up to 5 million Thai citizens aged 15 and older with access to various generative AI models through a single interface.

The platform aggregates 33 different models from 15 providers, including major systems such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini, as well as specialized tools for text, image, video, music, and coding. It also includes ‘Pathumma ThaiLLM’, a model specifically designed for the Thai language.

Access to these tools is not unlimited; instead, the program utilizes a tiered system based on user learning and credits. Users can increase their usage levels and earn additional credits by completing over 100 available AI courses and missions. This structure is intended to combine AI usage with active education, helping students, civil servants, and professionals improve their digital skills and secure digital certificates.
