Thailand and Philippines lead global last-minute travel trends
A new study by hotel management software company Sirvoy reveals a growing global trend toward spontaneous travel, with more than half of bookings in the top ten destinations occurring within seven days of arrival.
Asia leads the last-minute travel market. Thailand ranks first, with 74.8% of accommodations booked within a week of arrival, followed by the Philippines and Australia. Other top destinations include Mexico and New Zealand.
While Asia dominates the top spots, four European countries—Norway, Finland, the Netherlands, and Sweden—also appear in the top ten for last-minute travelers. Nichlas Linderborg, Chief Customer Officer at Sirvoy, noted that travelers are increasingly embracing spontaneity when booking their next vacations.
