Thailand Ministry of Transport establishes emergency flood response War Room

Thailand's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, has established an emergency War Room to coordinate flood response efforts across road, rail, water, and air transport sectors. The center aims to provide 24-hour assistance and integrated resource management to mitigate the impact of heavy rainfall and flooding.

The Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) reported that approximately 42% of its fleet remains operational, with 20 buses dedicated to providing free transportation for citizens in flooded areas. The Department of Rural Roads is deploying high-clearance vehicles to assist in regions inaccessible to standard buses.

The Department of Highways is monitoring 85 routes across 22 provinces, with 172 affected locations identified. In Bangkok, 29 specific points are under surveillance due to water levels ranging from 5 to 20 centimeters. Authorities have mobilized personnel, water pumps, and heavy machinery to ensure route continuity and public safety.
