Thailand outlines economic growth strategy and AI spatial intelligence advances

At the Bangkok Business Summit 2026, Thailand's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Dr. Ekniti Nitithanprapas, outlined a strategic blueprint to transition the nation into high-income status. The plan focuses on investment-led growth, private-sector-centered initiatives, and structural reforms aligned with World Bank recommendations. To ensure execution, the Joint Public and Private Committee (JPPC) will transition from an advisory role to an executive economic steering council.

In a separate development at the Qwen Conference Thailand 2026, Alibaba’s AMAP Platform showcased its spatial intelligence and location-based solutions. The company presented technologies designed for various sectors, including two-wheeler mobility, logistics, delivery, and travel. The platform aims to provide standardized, easy-to-integrate services to help businesses worldwide implement mapping and spatial intelligence into their operations.
