Anutin Charnvirakul leads southern Thailand flood preparedness meeting

Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul chaired a meeting with governors from 14 southern provinces in Pattani to coordinate flood response efforts. The meeting was held to prepare for heavy rainfall predicted by the Meteorological Department, which is expected to affect provinces from Phetchaburi to the Malaysian border through the end of October.

Anutin outlined seven key guidelines for disaster management, emphasizing the importance of early forecasting and the establishment of evacuation shelters. He specifically highlighted the need to protect vulnerable groups, including the elderly and bedridden patients, by ensuring they are moved to appropriate medical facilities.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister stressed that communication with the public must be clear, easy to understand, and accessible through all channels, including social media. He also called for seamless water management coordination between adjacent provinces to reduce the severity of flooding and prevent local conflicts.
