Thailand residential fires cause property damage and injuries

Two separate residential fires in Thailand have resulted in significant property damage and injuries.

In Nonthaburi's Bang Bua Thong district, a fire destroyed a luxury teak house valued at approximately ten million baht on August 25. While all human residents escaped the two-story structure without serious injury, one pet cat died from smoke inhalation and burns. Local police and forensic teams are investigating the cause of the blaze, which spread rapidly due to the wooden structure and seasonal winds.

In Chonburi, near Pattaya, a fire broke out late on August 24 in a residential village. The homeowner, 43-year-old Pradit Intawong, sustained burns to his arms, legs, and face while attempting to extinguish a fire in a bedroom and rescuing his dog and cat. Preliminary assessments suggest the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit involving a power bank left charging near a bed.
