Thailand to adjust wages for temporary healthcare workers

The Thai government, through the Ministry of Public Health, will implement a new wage structure for temporary healthcare personnel effective October 1, 2026. This adjustment aims to improve the quality of life and welfare of staff at all levels, aligning compensation with current economic conditions and the cost of living.

The new monthly wage rates for temporary employees using non-budgetary funds are categorized by educational qualifications:

• No specific qualification: 10,520 – 12,100 THB • Vocational Certificate (Por Wor Chor): 11,380 – 13,090 THB • High Vocational Certificate (Por Wor Sor): 13,920 – 16,010 THB • Bachelor’s Degree (4-year program): 18,150 – 23,000 THB • Bachelor’s Degree (5-year program): 19,120 – 23,000 THB • Bachelor’s Degree (6-year program): 21,180 – 23,000 THB

For medical and dental professionals, the government will apply the civil service salary scale to determine temporary employment wages based on qualifications recognized by the Civil Service Commission.
