Thailand upgrades Pattaya video security system as Hua Hin tourism expansion plans unfold

Pattaya City Hall has replaced its unreliable video surveillance infrastructure with the Avigilon Unity on‑premise security suite from Motorola Solutions. The new system, covering more than 500 locations including parks, highways and popular beaches, aims to improve stability, recording performance and incident investigation capabilities. Mayor Poramet Ngampichet highlighted the upgrade as part of the city’s Smart & Safe City policy.

Separately, the Thai government is promoting Hua Hin as a world‑class resort destination. Tourism and Sports Minister Surasak Phancharoenworakul announced plans to expand Hua Hin Airport, add international routes and focus on health, wellness and luxury tourism. The initiative seeks to raise the town’s profile alongside Phuket and Ko Samui while preserving its quieter, royal‑heritage character.
