Thailand wins two windsurfing bronze medals at Asian Games
Thai windsurfers secured two bronze medals in the iQFOiL category at the 20th Asian Games held at Koyo Yacht Harbor in Nagoya, Japan. The competition, which ran from September 29 to October 3, 2026, faced significant challenges due to unfavorable weather conditions and a lack of wind.
In the Women's U19 iQFOiL event, 16-year-old Chanatkan Charoensuk earned a bronze medal after competing in 11 races. The gold medal went to Chung Chi Yi of Hong Kong, while Akari Oshima of Japan took silver.
In the Men's Open iQFOiL event, William McMillan, a Thai-Australian athlete, also claimed a bronze medal. The gold was awarded to Bai Kun of China, and the silver to Lee Tae-hun of South Korea.
The Thai windsurfing team was managed by Ekk Ek Bunswat, with coaching provided by Sakda Sakulfaeng and Nattapong Phopnarat.
