Thailand women's football team exits 2026 Asian Games
The Thailand women's national football team has been eliminated from the 2026 Asian Games group stage following a 0-0 draw against Vietnam in their third Group E match at Nagai Stadium in Osaka, Japan.
Despite controlling much of the possession and creating several clear scoring opportunities, the Thai side was unable to convert. The result leaves Thailand in fourth place in the group with one point, finishing behind Vietnam on goal difference.
Head coach Netipong Srithongin, also known as Alfred, noted that while the team played well, they struggled with finishing. He emphasized that the tournament provided valuable experience, particularly through matches against high-ranking teams like Japan and Taiwan, which will serve as data for future development.
