Thailand's Board of Investment reports 37% surge in H1 2026 promoted projects to 1.47 trillion baht

The Board of Investment (BOI) said 1,299 projects seeking investment promotion were submitted in the first half of 2026, representing a total investment value of 1.473 trillion baht—up 37 % from the same period a year earlier. The applications span sectors aligned with global trends, led by digital and AI projects (1.115 trillion baht), followed by electronics, agricultural processing, logistics, energy and utilities, automotive, and chemicals. BOI estimates the investment will generate about 82,000 jobs, domestic procurement of roughly 3.8 trillion baht annually and export earnings exceeding 1.2 trillion baht per year. Most funding is directed to central Thailand, with significant activity also in the eastern and northeastern regions. Despite ongoing geopolitical tensions, energy price volatility and supply‑chain restructuring worldwide, the BOI said investor confidence in Thailand as a hub for future‑oriented industries remains strong.
