Thailand's cost-of-living initiative generates 86 million baht

The Thai government has reported significant results from its ‘Thai Help Thai: Reduce Burden, Reduce Cost of Living’ initiative. Through six phases of the program, the project has generated over 86 million baht in circulation and helped reduce consumer living expenses by more than 15 million baht.

Deputy Government Spokesperson Ploytalay Lakmisaengchan stated that the sixth phase of the second stage covered 878 districts nationwide. This specific phase saw participation from over 140,000 people, generating 13.24 million baht in circulation and saving citizens approximately 2.17 million baht.

The initiative is a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Interior’s Department of Provincial Administration and the Ministry of Commerce’s Department of Business Development. The program aims to provide access to high-quality, affordable goods while stimulating grassroots economies and supporting local entrepreneurs. The government plans to continue these activities through September 2026.
