Thailand's Department of Intellectual Property drives innovation economy

Thailand's Department of Intellectual Property (DIP) has reported significant success in promoting innovation as a key economic driver. The IP x Venture Rise Thailand 2026 event, held from August 27–29, 2026, attracted over 5,000 attendees and facilitated business matching for 164 pairs, generating approximately 62.6 million baht in economic value. The event showcased over 250 works across sectors including Health Tech, Agri Tech, AI & Robot Technology, Food Tech, Green Tech, and the Creative Economy.

To support the digital economy, the DIP is also intensifying efforts to combat online intellectual property infringement. In collaboration with rights holders and online platforms, the agency utilizes 'Notice and Takedown' measures to remove infringing goods. Between January and July 2026, authorities handled 140 cases involving 322,077 seized items, with total damages estimated at over 104 million baht. These initiatives aim to create a fair online trading environment and strengthen the competitive advantages of Thai entrepreneurs.
