Thailand's foreign film crews generate record 4.0 bn baht revenue in H1 2026
In the first half of 2026, 302 foreign film productions obtained permits in Thailand, generating 4.025 billion baht in revenue – more than half of the total recorded in the previous year. The income came from 21 feature films (1.989 bn baht), 22 game and reality shows (811 m baht) and 152 advertisements (710 m baht). The United States was the largest source of investment at 1.543 bn baht, followed by Hong Kong (322 m), Finland (300 m), Germany (297 m) and the United Kingdom (230 m). The Thai government credits its film‑incentive scheme, offering rebates of up to 30%, for attracting productions such as "Jurassic World: Rebirth" to locations across Krabi, Trang and Phang Nga provinces. Officials project that the second half of the year will push total earnings to a new record level.
