Thailand's Village Fund Board approves 1 billion baht for SML Plus

The National Village and Urban Community Fund Board has approved a budget of over 1 billion baht for the ‘SML Plus’ project. This initiative will support 5,461 projects across Thailand to strengthen the grassroots economy.

Suksomruay Wantaniyagul, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office and chair of the board, also announced the third round of the ‘Thai Help Thai’ program. This latest allocation of 460 million baht aims to reduce interest burdens and increase liquidity for village funds. Across all three rounds of the program, a total of 743.87 million baht has been distributed to 9,571 village funds to support local livelihoods.

The board has instructed the National Village and Urban Community Fund Office to expedite the review of applications by September to ensure funds reach citizens as quickly as possible.
