Amazonas political campaigns intensify amid new polling data

Political activity intensifies in Amazonas as candidates present platforms and polling data emerges. A survey by Instituto Projeta indicates a technical tie in a second-round simulation between Roberto Cidade and Omar Aziz, with Cidade holding 45.42% and Aziz at 43.24%.

In other simulated scenarios, Cidade leads against David Almeida (52.09% to 30.83%) and Maria do Carmo (51.13% to 33.35%). David Almeida has campaigned on using his experience in Manaus to improve state education, focusing on teacher valuation and school infrastructure.

Other candidates are also active: Gilberto Vasconcelos (PSTU) is advocating for public service exams and increased environmental monitoring to combat wildfires. Meanwhile, Thaisa Cidade has been visiting riverside communities in Manaus to gather local demands regarding water, electricity, and health services to incorporate into Roberto Cidade’s reelection platform. Additionally, political caravans have been moving through the Baixo Amazonas region to engage with local leaders.
