Thalapathy Vijay's 'Jana Nayagan' box office earnings dip as new releases approach

Thalapathy Vijay's Tamil action film *Jana Nayagan* saw its Day‑15 net collection in India fall to about ₹1.6 crore, a 20 % drop from the previous day, bringing the domestic net total to roughly ₹185.15 crore and the gross to ₹215.87 crore. The worldwide gross has reached approximately ₹308.67 crore, with overseas earnings of about ₹92.8 crore.

The slowdown is attributed to competition from the Hollywood release *Spider‑Man: Brand New Day*, which has drawn audiences away from Vijay’s film. Industry observers note that the Tamil version continues to dominate earnings, while dubbed versions contribute minimally. The film will also face fresh competition from Suriya’s upcoming political drama *Vishwanath & Sons*, slated for release on August 14.

Despite a strong opening, the decline raises questions about the film’s staying power in theatres as other major releases are scheduled in the coming weeks.
