Thales and 3ME Technology unveil BladeHAUL uncrewed ground vehicle
Thales Australia and 3ME Technology have unveiled BladeHAUL, a hybrid-electric extra-large uncrewed ground vehicle (XL-UGV). Inspired by the Bushmaster platform, the vehicle is designed for off-road operations and autonomous or remote control.
BladeHAUL features a payload capacity of up to 10 tonnes, capable of transporting a 20-foot container. This capacity reportedly exceeds any existing or planned Australian UGV counterpart. The vehicle is manufactured in Bendigo and Newcastle, utilizing the Bushmaster production line alongside 3ME’s hybrid drive and control systems.
Beyond heavy logistics, the platform is designed to serve as a mobile power source for field hospitals, communications systems, and command posts. Its mission profiles include reconnaissance, surveillance, counter-drone operations, and maritime strike support.
