Thales launches AI-driven cyberdefense platform to counter automated threats

Thales has introduced a new AI-driven cyberdefense platform designed to counter the increasing complexity of digital threats. During the Thales Cyber Summit in Paris, the company presented an automated model that integrates real-time detection and response tools under human supervision to protect critical infrastructure and businesses.

The platform utilizes five interconnected components: application environment security, automated detection and response, a convergent cyberdefense platform, continuous vulnerability assessment, and resilience mechanisms for essential operational assets. This architecture aims to eliminate the delays caused by security tools operating as isolated modules, allowing threat information to flow automatically between diagnosis and remediation.

In a broader context, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) face significant risks from automated nocturnal cyberattacks. Criminal groups utilize automated programs to scan for exposed services, test leaked credentials, and deploy malware during non-working hours, such as nights and weekends. The primary danger for these businesses is the extended time an intruder remains undetected in the network, which increases the likelihood of data theft or extortion.
