Thales reports growth in defense and aerospace orders

Thales has reported significant growth in its nine-month financial results, driven by increased military demand and aerospace activity. The company’s organic revenue rose 8.1% to 16.422 billion euros, while total orders increased by 15% organically to 19.122 billion euros.

A major driver of this growth was the acquisition of large-scale contracts. Of the total orders, 29 contracts exceeded 100 million euros each, contributing 7.57 billion euros. Notable projects include the development of government payloads for the European Union’s IRIS² secure communications constellation via Eutelsat, and contracts for the next generation of Rafale fighter jet radar systems.

The defense division saw a 13.3% revenue increase, reaching 9.358 billion euros. Additionally, the company secured orders for the SAMP/T NG air defense system, developed in consortium with MBDA, which serves as a European alternative to the American Patriot system. The aerospace division also saw strong performance, with its order book growing 29% organically to 5 billion euros.
