Thales wins Singapore air traffic control modernization contract

France’s Thales has been awarded a contract by Singapore’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAAS) to replace the country's existing air‑traffic management system, LORADS III, with the new NexGen ATMS platform. The solution, based on Thales’ TopSky – ATC One suite, will incorporate AI‑driven sequencing, real‑time decision‑support tools, advanced cybersecurity and an open architecture that can accommodate future upgrades.

The project also calls for the installation of two next‑generation air‑traffic radars and includes a skills‑transfer component, with CAAS personnel working at Thales’ French project office. Designed to accommodate rising regional traffic, the system aims to cut flight delays, reduce fuel burn and lower carbon emissions while improving overall safety and efficiency.
