Thalossi Park inaugurated in Nea Penteli

The Thalossi Park in Nea Penteli has been officially inaugurated, providing a modern space for sports, recreation, and culture. The urban redevelopment project covers 16,500 square meters within a larger 52-acre public forest area.

With a budget of 4,328,000 euros (plus VAT), the project was funded by the Attica Regional Development Program and implemented in cooperation with the Municipality of Penteli. The completion of the park occurred approximately two years ahead of its original 2028 schedule, addressing a site that had been neglected for 19 years.

Facilities include a renovated football pitch, a playground, an outdoor gym, and an exhibition space dedicated to local history. In recognition of his long-standing service to the Neopenteli Athletic Club, the football pitch will be named after its founder and former president, 95-year-old Thanasis Zafeiropoulos, who participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
