Thames Water selects contractors for £4bn infrastructure framework

Thames Water has chosen nine contractor teams to participate in a £4bn framework aimed at major water and wastewater infrastructure projects across London and the South East. The framework is designed to cover capital works during the Asset Management Plan 8 (AMP8) investment period, with potential extensions into AMP9.

The selected teams include BAM Nuttall, Barhale, Costain, Binnies, Cadagua, Ferrovial Construction, Murphy, Amentum/Taylor Woodrow, Galliford Try, Kier, and Mott MacDonald Bentley. The scope of the framework encompasses pre-construction services, engineering, construction, and associated goods and services.

While the framework is valued at £4bn, this figure represents the total potential value rather than guaranteed work. Individual projects will be awarded through specific contracts under this framework, subject to necessary approvals. A standstill period is currently in effect until 3 November, with contract signings expected to begin after 4 November. The framework is scheduled to run until March 2030, with options to extend to 2035.
