Than Uyen celebrates Independence Day with record-breaking Xoe dance

In Than Uyen, Lai Chau, an art program titled ‘Colors of the Northwest - Aspirations to Reach Far’ was held on September 1 to celebrate Vietnam's Independence Day.

During the event, the Vietnam Record Organization officially recognized the ‘Unity Xoe Circle’ record for the Than Uyen community. This record honors the large-scale, continuous tradition of the Xoe dance held annually in connection with the September 2nd celebrations.

Tong Thanh Hai, Standing Vice Chairman of the Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee, noted that the 2026 celebrations hold deep cultural and political significance, marking the 81st anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, as well as the 80th anniversary of the first National Assembly election. The event aims to preserve traditional cultural values while promoting local tourism and regional identity.
