Thanakorn condemns violence in Southern Thailand border provinces

Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana, a Bhumjaithai Party MP, has condemned recent violent incidents in Thailand’s three southern border provinces that resulted in injuries and widespread fear. He called for authorities to swiftly apprehend and prosecute those responsible for attacks against civilians, officials, and government property.

Thanakorn also responded to criticisms from Democrat Party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva regarding the government’s southern policy. Addressing claims that the administration's approach is insufficient, Thanakorn noted that Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul visited Narathiwat, Yala, and Pattani within his first month in office to direct comprehensive solutions involving security, economy, social issues, education, and peace processes.

The government maintains a policy of strict law enforcement against perpetrators while continuing dialogue and negotiations to restore lasting peace and stability to the region.
