Thanakorn rejects People's Party claims over 21 million votes

Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana, a Bhumjaithai Party MP and former Minister of Industry, has responded to claims made by Natthaphong Ruengpanyawut, leader of the People's Party, regarding the 21 million votes cast in the 2023 election.

Natthaphong previously suggested that those 21 million votes aimed to end the influence of parties supporting previous coups and called for a new constitution to ensure supreme power remains with the people. Thanakorn countered that these votes represent a desire for constitutional amendment rather than support for the People's Party's specific agenda.

Thanakorn argued that the people's power is already being exercised through recent elections, citing the Bhumjaithai Party's significant success and support for Anutin Charnvirakul. He urged the opposition leader to focus on parliamentary mechanisms and addressing the economic crisis rather than using rhetoric or inciting street protests.
