Thanasis Karteros disputes PASOK MP's claims of 'disappearing officials

Thanasis Karteros, a prominent columnist and close associate of Alexis Tsipras, has launched a sharp verbal attack against PASOK Member of Parliament Panagiotis Doudonis. The dispute arose after Doudonis posted a video on social media alleging a ‘disease of disappearing officials’ within the party.

Doudonis pointed to the absence of Karteros’s name from the Political Committee list on the PASOK website as evidence of a pattern where leadership utilizes officials for specific political stances but removes them once their views trigger public backlash. The party attributed the omission to a ‘service error.’ Doudonis also cited the previous removal of Mr. Siakantaris from the National Council as a similar instance.

In a lengthy response titled ‘When Doudonis Speaks,’ Karteros dismissed the claims with sarcasm. He argued that the ‘Political Secretariat’ mentioned by the MP does not even exist as a functional party organ. Karteros questioned whether Doudonis was acting in bad faith or was simply seeking personal publicity, mockingly stating, ‘YES. DOUDONIS IS RIGHT. I am and declare myself disappeared by Tsipras.’
