Thanh Hoa launches flood recovery and sanitation campaign

Thanh Hoa province has launched a large-scale mobilization to address the aftermath of recent heavy rains and flooding. Under the direction of Provincial People's Committee Chairman To Anh Dung, authorities are focusing on environmental sanitation, clearing drainage systems, and supporting agricultural recovery.

In Nong Cong commune, flooding caused significant damage, including the loss of over 115 hectares of rice and approximately 130 hectares of other crops. Local residents utilized previous experience to protect valuables and secure clean water. Following the receding waters, officials have begun cleaning debris, clearing waterways, and conducting disinfection to prevent disease.

The provincial recovery campaign, scheduled to run from September 21 to October 4, requires local communes and wards to take direct responsibility for addressing urgent issues. Efforts include assisting vulnerable households, managing mud and waste accumulation on roads, and helping farmers harvest remaining crops to minimize further losses.
