Thanh Hoa mandates regular weekly environmental sanitation tasks

Thanh Hoa provincial authorities have mandated that environmental sanitation and urban order management become regular, continuous tasks rather than periodic campaigns. To address issues such as accumulated waste, illegal dumping, and construction-related pollution, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee To Anh Dung has ordered departments and local agencies to integrate management responsibilities into specific individuals and units.

A new policy effective September 3 requires every agency to designate one fixed day per week for collective environmental cleaning involving officials, employees, and local residents. This initiative aims to improve urban aesthetics and public hygiene, addressing long-standing problems like sidewalk encroachment, disorganized telecommunications cabling, and inadequate waste collection infrastructure.
