Thanh Hoa police indict individuals for counterfeit ink production

Thanh Hoa Provincial Police have initiated a criminal investigation into the production and sale of counterfeit printer ink. Authorities have indicted six individuals involved in a scheme to manufacture fake ink cartridges and misrepresent their origin.

One primary operation centered on BPTECH Trading Service Co., Ltd., managed by Bui Xuan Quy. Investigators discovered that the company used machinery to produce ink cartridges and then applied fraudulent labels, such as ‘H51CC645A MADE IN CHINA’ and ‘HP45’, to deceive consumers. During a search of the company premises, police seized thousands of empty cartridge shells, packaging, bulk ink, finished products, and various production machines. In August alone, the company reportedly sold over 150 million VND worth of these counterfeit goods.

In a related development, police also indicted Nguyen Ngoc Kiem for a similar scheme involving the production and sale of counterfeit HP45 ink. Kiem allegedly purchased raw materials and packaging to manufacture fake cartridges, which were sold on the market for between 1.15 million and 1.35 million VND per box.
