Thanh Hoa police investigate ambulance and medical fraud case

Thanh Hoa Provincial Police have summoned three individuals following reports that a family was charged 9.5 million VND for a 16km ambulance transport and medical supplies. The suspects include ambulance owner Nguyen Cong Khanh, driver Vo Dai Truong Lam, and medical student Le Trong Hai Anh.

According to investigators, the group charged the family 5.3 million VND for the transport, including fees for a ventilator and suction machine. Additionally, the group sold seven bottles of Adrenaline to the family for 600,000 VND per bottle, totaling 4.2 million VND. Police noted that the market price for the same medication is approximately 4,000 VND per bottle.

The incident has raised public concerns regarding management loopholes at Thanh Hoa Provincial General Hospital, as the group was able to access and consult with patients and their families within the facility.
