Thanh Hoa police investigate Linh Khang Construction for tax evasion

Thanh Hoa Provincial Police have launched an investigation into Hoang Manh Linh, director of Linh Khang Construction Joint Stock Company, for suspected tax evasion and the illegal issuance of invoices and documents. Authorities conducted searches of Linh’s residence and workplace following the discovery of significant financial irregularities.

Investigations revealed that the company utilized sophisticated methods to falsify records, including establishing shell companies to legitimize goods and services and inflating labor costs. Specifically, in 2024, the company reported over 1.3 billion VND in wages for employees who were found not to actually work at the firm. A second company, Duc Loc Construction Trading Joint Stock Company, was also identified as engaging in similar fraudulent practices.

Linh, known as Linh ‘Lùn’, has a prior criminal record for public disorder involving a shooting in 2011. Since completing his sentence in 2018, he has operated in various sectors, including pawnshops, lending, construction, and the hospitality and entertainment industry.
