Thanh Hoa province addresses public land management issues
The Thanh Hoa Department of Natural Resources and Environment has reported to the provincial People's Committee regarding the current state of public land management and usage. The report highlights several bottlenecks and irregularities in the management of 15,660.1 hectares of agricultural land used for public purposes across 135 communes and wards.
Key findings include inconsistent record-keeping and a low rate of land leasing through public auctions, which currently only covers 280.56 hectares in seven communes. The department has proposed measures to resolve existing issues, including reviewing land funds, handling expired contracts, promoting auctions for leases, recovering debts, and preventing land abandonment, encroachment, or misuse.
