Thanh Tung memorial concert held in Hanoi

The Legacy of Love concert was held on August 15 at the National Convention Center in Hanoi to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the passing of composer Thanh Tung. The event brought together nearly 4,000 attendees and featured prominent artists including Thanh Lam, My Linh, Tung Duong, Le Quyen, and My Anh.

Under the musical direction of Tran Manh Hung, the performances utilized a classical crossover style, blending symphony orchestras with modern bands. The program was structured into three parts reflecting different eras of Thanh Tung’s career: his musical studies in Pyongyang, his work as an orchestral conductor and film composer, and his period of writing poignant love songs.

Singer Thanh Lam performed ‘Chuyen co Nghi Tam’, a song inspired by the Nghi Tam flower village in Hanoi, which holds personal significance as the composer’s former residence. The concert aimed to revitalize Thanh Tung’s musical legacy, showcasing his ability to blend international trends with a distinct personal identity.
