Thanko launches compact two-tier bento box rice cooker

Thanko has released the ‘Shin 2-dan Shiki Bento-bako Suihanki’ (True 2-Tier Bento Box Rice Cooker), a compact appliance designed for single-person use. Priced at 8,980 yen on the official Thanko website, the device features a two-tier structure that allows users to cook rice in the bottom compartment while simultaneously warming side dishes or steaming food in the top compartment using the steam from the rice.

The device can cook between 0.5 to 1 cup of rice, with a fast-cooking mode that takes as little as 14 minutes. It also includes reservation functions for 60, 80, or 120 minutes. Designed for portability, it can be used via a power cord or in outdoor settings without a direct power source, making it suitable for office desks or travel. The unit measures 235 x 126 x 139 mm and weighs approximately 910g. For ease of maintenance, all parts are washable, and the side dish tray and middle lid are dishwasher safe.
