The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert sequel enters production planning

A sequel to the 1994 cult classic ‘The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert’ is in development. Actor Guy Pearce provided an update on the production timeline, suggesting that filming will likely take place in 2027 with a projected release in 2028.

Director Stephan Elliott is returning for the project. The production had previously filmed footage featuring the late Terence Stamp before his death in August 2025. Elliott noted that he decided to pre-shoot Stamp’s scenes to ensure the actor could perform the role himself, as Stamp had expressed a desire to avoid using a digital AI clone of his likeness.

Original stars Guy Pearce and Hugo Weaving are also expected to return for the sequel.
