The Amazing Race Season 39 premieres with new twist and global route
The 39th season of ‘The Amazing Race’ premieres with a special two-night event on CBS, starting Wednesday, September 30, at 9:30 p.m. ET. Hosted by Phil Keoghan, the new season features 13 teams competing for a $1 million prize across nine countries and 13 cities, covering more than 25,000 miles. Notably, the route includes the show’s first-ever stop in Albania and will not feature any locations in the contiguous United States.
A major gameplay twist for this season is that all 13 teams will receive an Express Pass at the start of the race, though they must use it by the end of Leg 6. The cast includes several new reality TV contestants, as well as former U.S. Women’s National Team soccer players Ali Krieger and Joanna Lohman.
Viewers can watch the series via CBS or through various streaming services. Paramount+ offers live streaming via its Premium plan and on-demand viewing the following day, while services like FuboTV and DIRECTV provide live access through their respective subscription packages.
