The Asylum announces ‘Z Nation: Resurrection’ sequel series

The Asylum, the studio known for the ‘Sharknado’ films, has announced a sequel series to its cult horror-comedy ‘Z Nation’ titled ‘Z Nation: Resurrection’. The project arrives eight years after the original series concluded its five-season run.

Set in the same zombie-infested universe several years after the original show, the new series will focus on a new generation of survivors. While details are still being negotiated, several original cast members, including Kellita Smith, Keith Allan, Russell Hodgkinson, and DJ Qualls, are reportedly in talks to return in supporting roles.

David Rimawi, co-founder and executive producer at The Asylum, stated that the series is a response to long-standing fan interest. The studio is partnering with Vital Signs Entertainment for the production.
