The Athletic releases comprehensive NHL player rankings

The Athletic has released a comprehensive new ranking of NHL players, utilizing advanced statistics and input from over 20 industry professionals, including general managers, coaches, and scouts.

Six Czech players featured in the rankings. David Pastrňák of the Boston Bruins was the highest-ranked Czech, receiving a 1C rating. Other Czech players included in the list were Martin Nečas, Tomáš Hertl, Filip Hronek, Lukáš Dostál, and Jakub Dobeš.

The rankings drew some scrutiny regarding Martin Nečas; despite scoring 100 points in the regular season, he was placed in the 3C category. Some industry insiders suggested his production might be inflated due to playing alongside elite center Nathan MacKinnon.
