The Austen releases new single ‘All I Need’

The alternative rock project The Austen has released a new single titled ‘All I Need’. The track utilizes a narrative structure that begins with a distant observation of war before immersing the listener in the visceral horrors of conflict, including collapsing buildings and extreme hunger.

The song concludes with a transition from this nightmare to a peaceful awakening, where the protagonist realizes the war was a dream. This shift serves to highlight the contrast between the chaos of war and the value of existing stability, reflecting on the human tendency to desire more while overlooking what is already present.

Formed in London in 2017, the Varese-based project features a sound characterized by distorted vocals, prominent guitars, and driving drums, interspersed with delicate synthesizers and dreamlike atmospheres. The band’s name is an homage to the British author Jane Austen.
