The Australian Ballet announces 2027 season schedule

The Australian Ballet has announced its 2027 season schedule, featuring a blend of archival classics and contemporary works. A major highlight is the return of Frederick Ashton’s ‘Cinderella’ to the company’s stage after a 47-year absence.

Artistic director David Hallberg noted the intention to revive works that historically defined the company. The season will also include a return of Hallberg’s reimagined ‘Swan Lake’, which will feature updated set and costume designs. Hallberg emphasized the need to evolve familiar works to meet modern technical standards and audience expectations.

Other featured productions include the modern, non-narrative work ‘Kunstkamer’, which utilizes a musical range spanning from Beethoven to Janis Joplin.
