The Avalanches release fourth album ‘No Bad Memories’

The Avalanches have released their fourth studio album, titled ‘No Bad Memories’. The collection consists of 31 tracks spanning approximately 52 minutes, characterized by a fast-paced, fragmented structure that utilizes samples from commercial jingles, computer startup sounds, and media snippets.

The album explores themes of nostalgia and commercial culture, blending genres such as disco, hip-hop, house, and soul. Notable collaborations include ‘Every Single Weekend’ featuring Jamie xx, which combines dance beats with lyrics regarding the cost of living, and ‘All The Time In The World’ featuring Rivers Cuomo of Weezer, which offers a psychedelic sound.

While the production reflects the technological optimism of the early 2000s, the album also incorporates experimental elements, such as blending Jersey club rhythms with crow calls in ‘Like Clockwork/Hit By Traffic’. Other tracks feature Barry Can’t Swim, utilizing vintage soul samples to create funk-inspired segments.
