The B-52s honored with Hollywood Walk of Fame star

The B-52s, the iconic band originating from Athens, Georgia, were honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the Recording category. The dedication ceremony, held in front of Amoeba Music, featured guest speakers including comedian Fred Armisen and the rock group The Go-Go's.

Band members Fred Schneider, Kate Pierson, Cindy Wilson, and Keith Strickland attended the event. During the ceremony, members reflected on the band's origins in a former mortuary and their journey since forming over four decades ago. The group has sold more than 20 million albums globally, including hits such as “Love Shack” and “Roam.”

This honor marks the 2,861st star on the Walk of Fame. The ceremony takes place as the band continues their Cosmic De-Evolution Tour, with upcoming performances scheduled in Chula Vista and Palm Desert.
