The Bahamas promotes financial services innovation at STEP LATAM

At the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP LATAM) conference in São Paulo, Brazil, Jerome Fitzgerald, the Bahamian Minister of Economic Affairs, highlighted the country’s efforts to modernize its legal and regulatory frameworks.

Fitzgerald emphasized that The Bahamas is strengthening its position as an international financial services jurisdiction by introducing new wealth-planning solutions for global families, investors, and international family offices. He noted that the nation’s appeal is driven by its political and economic stability, strategic location near major Western Hemisphere markets, and a high concentration of professional expertise in the financial services sector.
