The Balvenie releases final ultra‑aged whisky in Fifty Collection
The Balvenie announced the third and final edition of its Fifty Collection, a whisky blended from three half‑century‑old casks selected by malt master Kelsey McKechnie. Only 45 bottles have been produced, each priced at £42,500 (about $56,560), and the release is being sold exclusively at Harrods in London during July 2026 before reaching select specialty retailers worldwide.
The final edition combines an American oak barrel filled in 1974 with the earlier European oak butt and American hogshead used for the first two releases. Tasting notes describe buttery pastry, confectionery, golden Manuka honey, ripe soft fruit and gentle oak spice. The Balvenie, part of Scottish drinks group William Grant & Sons, markets the collection as a tribute to the distillery’s five‑decade legacy of craftsmanship.
