The Batman Part II begins filming in Liverpool with snowy Gotham set
Production on Matt Reeves' sequel The Batman Part II has started in Liverpool, England. Leaked photos and videos show a Gotham City Police Department cruiser covered in ice and snow, and crew setting up a red bat‑logo camera in front of St George’s Hall. Scenes are being shot in the Birkenhead Tunnel, with additional locations planned at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden and in Glasgow.
The film, co‑written by Reeves and Mattson Tomlin, will reunite Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/Batman and feature returning cast members Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis, Colin Farrell and Barry Keoghan as the Joker. New additions include Sebastian Stan as Harvey Dent, Scarlett Johansson as Gilda Dent, and Charles Dance as Charles Dent. The sequel is scheduled for worldwide release on 1 October 2027. Production details remain tightly guarded, and the Batmobile and most cast members are not present in the initial night‑time shoot.
The early footage suggests a cold‑weather, gritty tone, with practical stunts such as a stunt double performing on a moving police car in the tunnel. The set images have sparked speculation about the inclusion of villains like Mr. Freeze, Two‑Face and others.
