The Beach Boys cancel Bloomington concert amid Mike Love health concerns

The Beach Boys have cancelled their scheduled performance on October 9 at the Grossinger Motors Arena in Bloomington, Illinois. The venue cited ‘unforeseen circumstances’ for the cancellation, a phrasing previously used for other recent postponements.

The group has faced a series of cancellations following frontman Mike Love’s health and personal struggles. Love previously informed fans that he was recovering from bronchitis and COVID-19, while also dealing with the emotional toll of losing his sister, Maureen, and his cousin, Brian.

While public performances have been largely suspended since July 18 in Valdosta, Georgia, the band reportedly held a private event on October 3 in Dana Point, California. This private show included regular guest John Stamos and featured Love performing while seated on stage.
