Sixty years ago, on August 29, 1966, The Beatles performed their final official concert at Candlestick Park in San Francisco. The event, attended by approximately 25,000 people, marked the end of the band's era as a touring live act, as the members decided to focus exclusively on studio experimentation.

The decision to stop touring followed a period of intense exhaustion and controversy. During their 1966 North American tour, the band faced significant challenges, including a traumatic experience in the Philippines and backlash in the United States following John Lennon’s controversial remark that the group was “more popular than Jesus.” This statement led to protests and the burning of their records, particularly in the American South.

Beyond political and social tensions, the band struggled with the logistical limitations of stadium performances. The overwhelming noise of screaming fans made it impossible for the members to hear themselves or their instruments, and the complex, delicate compositions of their newer material, such as those found on the album ‘Revolver’, were difficult to replicate in large arenas.
