The Beatles used subversive lyrics in 'Girl' song

During the recording of the 1965 album 'Rubber Soul', The Beatles incorporated subversive elements into the song 'Girl'. Paul McCartney recalled that the band enjoyed attempting to include 'naughty' words on their records for light relief.

Specifically, the phrase 'tit tit tit tit' was used as a playful, nearly indistinguishable substitute for 'dit dit dit dit', inspired by a similar innocence found in Beach Boys songs. Additionally, John Lennon requested that his breathing be audible during the chorus to create a sense of intimacy, a technique achieved with a special compressor applied by producer George Martin. The song's arrangement also drew musical inspiration from McCartney's travels in Greece.
